Since 2012, Heather Mydosh has been a Professor of English at Independence Community College, an open-enrollment institution of higher education in southeast Kansas, where she teaches a variety of composition and literature courses. She serves as the Chair for Arts and Letters. Originally from southern Michigan, she holds degrees from Lake Superior State University, the Centre for Modern Thought at the University of Aberdeen, and the Stonecoast MFA Program at the University of Southern Maine. Her mentors at Stonecoast included poets Ted Deppe, Deb Marquart, and Cate Marvin among others.
